SrimatE NigamAntha MahAdesikAya Namaha

It is an absolute honor for adiyen to pay tributes to the outstanding Kaimkaryam of U.Ve. Sri Soundararajan Desikan Swami on the occasion of his -80th janma nakshatra dinam, Sunday, January 11, 2015. Swami comes from a Vaidika family in Tiruvaheendrapuram and spent his early years delighting in the numerous sevais for Hemambjavalli Sametha Devanayaka Perumal and Bhagavan Lakshmi Hayagriva at Oushadagiri. Swami has had the benefit of Kalakshepam from numerous luminaries of the Srivaishnava tradition as practiced by Swami Nigamanta Mahadesikan such as H.H. Srimad Mukkur Azhagiyasingar, , H.H. Srimad Paravakottai Andavan Swami, H.H. Srimad Villivalam Azhagiyasingar, U.Ve. Seva Srinivasaraghavachariar Swami, and Mahavidwan Paramapadavasi Sri Mukkur Lakshminarasimhachariar Swami. As a consequence, Swami possesses matchless mastery of Ubhaya Vedantam. Swami deserves utmost praise for his tireless efforts of Kaimkaryam for
Bhagavan Hayagriva. It seems as if every waking moment is spent in service of his Aradhya Daivam. Most notable among the numerous Hayagriva Kaimkaryams include the Oushadadri Mahamantapam construction project, which Swami pioneered and championed from conception to completion, and the Kadamba Mala publication containing a beautiful collection of pictures and stotrams of Bhagavan Hayagriva. Another noteworthy Kaimkaryam undertaken by Swami is the restoration of the Thayar Sannadhi at Gopurapatti to its pristine glory from a rather dilapidated condition. In addition to these Kaimkaryams, Swami is most generous in sharing his Sampradayic knowledge and time with interested Bhagavatas around the globe through telephone and Skype Kalakshepams. His Tiruppavai upanyasams are unique and nectarine with respect to capturing insights from several mahans mentioned earlier in this narrative. For example the association of each Tiruppavai  Pasuram with a Dhivya Desam
and the division of the entire Tiruppavai into 3 parts, with each part reflecting a key message underlying the Varaha Charma Shlokam are two items that standout in adiyen’s memory. The ease and simplicity of exposition make his upanyasams a treat for both a generally knowledgeable listener as well as a novice. Swami has also published several books that have caused several Bhagavatas to take to the theory and practice of the Sampradayam seriously-reading each of his books sheds light on the how and why of the Srivaishnava tradition as practiced by Swami Desikan and imparts a capsule of profound wisdom. In summary, Swami has been a beacon light for numerous Bhagavatas around the globe. It is adiyen’s Mahabhagyam to be associated with this Mahan. Adiyen offers prayers to the Divine Couple to bless Swami with boundless enthusiasm, excellent health and long life to undertake many more such Kaimkaryam and concludes this tribute with a salutation from the
concluding mantram of the Isavasya Upanishad
